On March 7, we will be walking to stop kidney disease.

The time has come for us to stand up and fight chronic kidney disease (CKD)! CKD affects at least 50 million Americans. That’s 1.6 million in Los Angeles County alone facing permanent kidney failure and other serious health issues like hypertension, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

The specific disease we are walking to fight against is Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).  ADPKD (autosomal dominant PKD) is a genetic disease that affects about 1 in every 500 people, and there is currently no cure. We want to change that.

We are walking in remembrance of our father and grandfather, Lajpat Mediratta, whose life was taken by this disease twenty years ago.

The impact we can make together is much greater than what any of us could do alone.
