I want to stop kidney disease in its tracks!

In the Fall of 2009 at the age of 23 I was informed I had Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). PKD is one of the most common life-treating genetic diseases in which cysts grow on the kidneys and contribute to a decreasing renal function. If a healthy kidney is a single balloon, you can think of a kidney affected by PKD as a bunch of balloons. I have two bunches of balloons!

At this time, there is no cure for PKD and no way to stop its progression (other than not having children). KidneyWise is here to empower people to live KidneyWise today and prevent kidney disease tomorrow through education, community involvement and research.
